Food comes out fast, which matters enormously when someone small has hit the wall, and portions are generous for the price with no service charge tacked on. There's a kids' menu, high chairs, buggy access and free parking, and the place is cosy rather than cavernous — lovely in winter, though it fills up in the evenings and at weekends, so book if you're coming with a group. Midweek and Sunday evenings are the calmer bet. Toilets are kept clean and the staff are warm with families. Starters are a short list, and it's simple cooking rather than fancy.
