Restaurant · Mold
Half the pleasure here is how easily it absorbs a family — the rooms are bright, airy and roomy enough for a pram, with a separate restaurant side away from the bar if you want a calmer meal, and free parking outside so you're not circling with a toddler in the back. Staff genuinely seem to enjoy the job: one family asked for a table away from the walkway for an autistic diner and were accommodated without fuss. Food is well above the pub-food price it's charged at — beef and Sunday lunches get the most praise, portions are generous, and there's a proper kids' menu (one child was thrilled with a mini version of the grown-up main). High chairs, buggy access, vegan options and outdoor seating are all sorted. Sundays fill up, so book ahead.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
