Cafés · Wallingford
Tucked away off the road between Wallingford and Cholsey, this family-run café hides an upstairs play area that children happily disappear into while parents get a proper break with their coffee. The food is a genuine draw — lemon muffins, pizza (the biltong and avocado one has a following), bacon and cheese turnovers — and prices stay reasonable, with vegan options and a kids' menu alongside high chairs and outdoor seating. The team are unfailingly patient and welcoming, and the whole place has a community feel; one parent says every visit feels "like I'm home". Two honest notes: parking is free but can be tricky when it's busy, which it often is, and the play area sometimes closes for the café's board and trading card game events, so it's worth checking ahead.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
