Cafés · Stowmarket
Tucked into the back of Stowmarket's church, this is a brighter, warmer space than the setting suggests — high ceilings, plenty of tables, and enough room between them that a pram isn't a problem. There's a children's play area that keeps small ones occupied while you finish your coffee, plus high chairs, a kids' menu and seating outside. The staff are cheerful and quick, and portions are generous for the price: the quiche comes with salad and a jacket potato, the all-day breakfast has a following, and the cake slices are famously large — coffee and walnut, Bakewell, Victoria sponge. It's a popular lunch spot, so it fills up at midday, and one visit turned up beans served barely warm. Dogs are welcome too. One parent calls it "a little gem".

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
