JACOB'S BAKERY + CAFE
A laid-back Brighton coffee shop with outdoor seating and vegan options — an easy, relaxed stop for families.

Pub · Brighton
A working Brighton pub that's more relaxed by day than its evening reputation suggests — the roasts here are genuinely good, with the roast potatoes singled out again and again, generous portions, and food that lands fast, which matters enormously when someone small has hit the wall. There's a kids' menu, high chairs and step-free access for a pram, plus outdoor seating for when the noise inside builds. Vegetarians are looked after properly; one family found the nut roast every bit as good as the beef. The pizzas get a mention too. Worth knowing: darts, pool and the party bookings mean weekend evenings get loud and boisterous, so lunchtime is the family slot. Service is usually warm and chatty, though the odd off day at the bar does happen.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
