A proper Stonehouse local, this one — beer, football on the big screen and a genuinely warm welcome from the team behind the bar. Come earlier in the day and it's an easy stop with children: buggy access is level, high chairs are there, and free parking takes the stress out of arriving. There's a kids' menu, outdoor seating for when little ones need to wriggle, and the pizza gets a lot of love. Staff are friendly and quick at clearing glasses, and one family noted the toilets were surprisingly clean. Be honest with yourself about timing, though: Saturdays with the football or rugby on get packed, live music nights are a regular fixture, and drinks aren't cheap for what it is. The decor is tired and the carpets have seen things — but the atmosphere is the point.
