Tucked into Ballycarry, this is a proper traditional pub with an open fire and a low, easy hum — the sort of place where nobody minds a bit of noise from a table of children. Free parking outside and step-free buggy access make the arrival painless, and there are high chairs and a kids' menu once you're in. Food comes out piping hot and in genuinely big portions at prices that feel gentle: the chicken goujons, scampi, ribs and garlic chips get the loudest praise, and one child declared the pizza the finest she'd ever eaten. The team are warm and quick without being fussy, and there's a big screen for the rugby. Dogs are welcome too, with a wall of photos to prove it. Booking isn't essential, though it fills up at teatime.
