Pub · Nottingham
A big, busy traditional pub where a family can settle in without anyone tutting — there's a kids' menu, high chairs, step-free buggy access and free parking, which takes most of the stress out before you've even sat down. The menu is long enough that fussy eaters and grown-ups both find something: the chicken sharer platter and bang bang cauliflower get particular praise, and portions are generous. Food tends to arrive hot and all together, which matters when someone's patience is running out, and the staff are notably good with children — one parent's little girl ordered for herself for the first time and the server took it in her stride. Outdoor seating helps on warm days. Worth knowing: it books up on Thursday and Friday evenings, there's sometimes live music, and the mains can be hit-and-miss.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
