A grand old bank building in the middle of Sheffield that turns out to work far better with small children than the high ceilings suggest — there's a kids' menu, high chairs, and outdoor seating for when a toddler needs air. Families report being looked after properly with a three-year-old and a twelve-week-old in tow, and afternoon tea is a genuine occasion here. The kitchen does sea bass, pork chops and pizza well, plates arrive nicely presented, and waits are reasonable even at busy times. Two honest snags: reception can be unstaffed at arrival, so you may have to flag someone down, and menu items do run out. Worth booking, and worth asking about chilli in the burger chutney — it's not flagged. One parent called it a perfect place to warm up during the day.
