Porter Brook
A friendly Eccleshall Road pub with a waterside beer garden, fast service, generous roasts and a kids' menu.

Pub · Sheffield
Sheffield locals have long known this as a proper pub, but it's roomier than it looks from the street — a rear beer garden, seating out front, and enough space inside that a pram isn't a problem. High chairs are there, buggy access is easy, and parking is free, which takes the sting out of a rainy Saturday. The kids' menu does a battered fish that goes down well, and adults rave about the burgers and steak. Staff are patient and genuinely good with allergies, explaining things properly rather than shrugging. Worth knowing: it can be packed by six, and while some find the food excellent, others call it solid pub grub rather than remarkable. Wednesday jazz nights and quiz nights mean the noise level varies a lot — lunchtimes are the calmer bet with little ones.
