A big Greene King place close to the city centre, with enough room inside that a pram isn't a problem and a sun terrace out front for warmer days. The interior is warm and recently done up — cosy corners, comfortable seating, and a lot of TV screens, which is worth knowing: on football and cricket days it fills up and gets loud, though the bar is usually quiet at lunchtime. Food comes out fast and hot, which matters when someone's melting down: the chicken and ham pie with mash, scampi, hunter's chicken and the katsu chicken all get a proper thumbs-up, and portions are reasonable except the chips, which run small. Staff are consistently friendly and unflustered. Prices are fair for West Bridgford, though one parent found it "viciously expensive". Free parking, high chairs and a kids' menu.
