About Ladies Mile

A proper community pub in Brighton, and one that families seem to fall into easily — the welcome is chatty and warm from the door, even on a first visit. Sunday roasts are the reason most people come: pork belly that melts, gravy in generous quantities, and the extras (stuffing balls, pigs in blankets) worth ordering on top. Midweek is calmer and the food holds up, with a brownie that gets singled out. Free parking helps, there's buggy access, high chairs and a kids' menu, and a garden plus outdoor seating when the weather plays along. Inside is cosy with unusual Art Deco fittings. One snag: it fills up fast — by 1pm on a Sunday it's packed, so book. Dogs are welcome too.
