High chairs and a kids' menu are sorted, buggy access is fine, and there's outdoor seating for when little ones need air. The staff have a real warmth about them — quick with a welcome even on a quiet afternoon, and dogs get a water bowl and a treat. The Guinness has a serious local reputation, the ales are well kept, and prices are reasonable for the town centre. Worth knowing: it fills up fast and gets genuinely loud when rugby's on or a live band's playing, and there can be a queue at the bar. Come earlier in the day and it's a much calmer proposition.
