A proper old boozer in Sneinton — known locally as the King Billy — spread over several rooms with a rooftop terrace that's the real draw with children in tow. Up top there's a Tex-Mex kitchen doing tacos that families rave about (largely veggie and vegan, though meat is served too), plus plenty of outdoor seating, some of it covered for when Nottingham weather turns. There's a kids' menu, high chairs, and staff who are chatty and quick to make people feel welcome. Food comes out fresh, hot and filling, and drinks are reasonably priced. Worth knowing: the interior is small, quirky and packed with 1950s knick-knacks rather than pram-friendly space, and one visitor found the food a touch pricey. Dog friendly, with live music and comedy some evenings.
