Tucked into Hotwells within walking distance of the Clifton Suspension Bridge, this is a small, cosy room where the owner tends to come round mid-meal to check everyone's happy — and the staff are used to families, with high chairs, a kids' menu and buggy access, plus free parking so you're not circling with a tired toddler in the back. Book ahead: there aren't many tables, and Friday nights fill fast. Food arrives quickly and the portions are generous for the price. Poppadoms with chutneys keep small hands busy while you wait, and the Nigella prawns, tandoori mixed grill and chicken biryani come up again and again. Heat is adjusted on request, so mild for the children and properly spicy for you. Vegan options too, and one family called the mango lassi "lovely".
