Be realistic about the setting, though: it seats only a couple of dozen, so it's cosy rather than roomy, and the format is a slow tasting menu with wine pairings, better suited to an older child who'll sit than a hungry toddler. The 3pm Sunday service is the easier family moment: velvety soup, a properly filling roast, and puddings brought round on a trolley. The scallop with mash and herb-crusted brioche served in a clamshell, and the mint sorbet palate cleanser, come up again and again. Portions lean quality over quantity. Staff are attentive without hovering — one family liked that they were "good at letting us enjoy our catch up". Book ahead; this is a special-occasion meal, not a drop-in.
