Tucked into Radstock with free parking outside, this is a warm, homely spot where the log burner in winter does half the work of settling everyone down. Staff are genuinely friendly and quick with a smile, and there's a kids' menu, high chairs and step-free access for prams, plus outdoor seating in decent weather. The menu is a bit different from the usual — a Portuguese fish pie that arrives more like a chowder under a golden topping, proper home-cooked fish and chips, Black Forest cherry cake, and breakfast served all day except Sundays. There's a weekday roast as well as the Sunday one, though it's worth booking for that. Fair prices, though portions are moderate rather than piled high. Dogs are welcome too. One parent calls it "nice and cosy".
