Perched above the quay with floor-to-ceiling windows, this place trades on a harbour view that genuinely beats the ground-floor spots nearby — and the food holds up alongside it. Fish and chips arrive with homemade tartare and minted mushy peas, the steak and ale pie is packed with chunky meat, and even the buttered cabbage gets talked about. Portions are generous, plates land together, and food comes out fast enough to head off a meltdown. Staff are warm and unfazed by children; there's a kids' menu, high chairs, vegan options and outdoor seating. Worth knowing: the soft play in the same building is a separate proposition — the arcade lift is awkward with a pushchair, you can't take a pram up the stairs, and it gets sauna-hot in summer. Dog friendly too.
