A basement room off Sauchiehall Street, nicely decorated and calmer than the street above. The team are what people mention most — attentive, patient, happy to steer you through a long menu, and in no hurry to move you on. There's a kids' menu, high chairs and plenty of vegetarian and vegan choices. Portions are generous for the price, the halloumi pakora has a real following, and the butter chicken and sweet naan come up again and again; ask for the separate naan bowl menu if you want one, as it isn't on the main card. A complimentary soup often appears between courses. Two things to know: tables sit close together, so getting past with a pram is awkward, and dips and poppadoms are charged separately. The pakora sauce is properly hot — taste it before it reaches a child.
