Plough
Cosy Cardiff pub with a fire, generous portions, kids' menu, high chairs and free parking — but noisy at peak times.

Pub · Cardiff
Bigger inside than the frontage suggests, and generally calm — one visitor found it "fairly quiet inside", though weekend evenings can tip the other way, with children haring about and noise levels that some parents find too much. Free parking, buggy access, high chairs and a kids' menu are all sorted, and the staff come up again and again as the real strength here: welcoming, patient, and quick to seat people. Food is a mixed bag but the wins are worth knowing — the chicken and bacon salad, salmon in a good sauce, a well-cooked gammon or steak, and fish and chips that arrive fast and properly hot. Portions can be small for the money, so the regular voucher deals are worth watching. It's dog friendly. Ask for a table near the front windows — the back gets gloomy.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
