Halfway between Glencoe and Skye, this is a genuinely surprising find — an 1800s manor whose kitchen turns out Indian cooking that families call some of the tastiest food of their whole Scottish trip. Butter chicken, lentil curry, samosas that are crisp rather than greasy, and a bread pudding worth saving room for; there are Scottish and Western dishes too, so a picky child isn't stuck. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan choices. It's usually quiet, which is a relief with a toddler — one family were the only customers — and the staff are warm and easy with children. High chairs, a kids' menu, buggy access, outdoor seating and free, easy parking. Two honest snags: prices are steep for the portions, and phone signal and WiFi are poor out here. Worth ringing ahead in season.
