The menu is deliberately tight (burgers, mac and cheese) and done well, with the Sunday roast the thing people come back for: pink roast beef, roast potatoes worth asking seconds for, generous portions. Food tends to arrive fast, which matters when someone's melting down. Staff are warm with little ones and good about dietary needs — one visitor was easily accommodated lactose-free. High chairs, a kids' menu and free parking help. It gets genuinely busy at weekends and holidays, and service can wobble when it does.
