Awl Mor Restaurant
Roomy riverside dining room with bay views, kids' menu, high chairs and free parking — lovely food, but service can be slow.

Cafés · Cardigan
A café right by the beach access at Poppit Sands, this is the sort of stop that makes a sandy morning worth it — free parking, buggy access to get in, and plenty of outdoor tables so nobody has to keep small voices down. High chairs and a kids' menu are there when you need them, and the vegan side is genuinely well stocked, with sausage rolls, doughnuts, cookies and ice cream all covered. The sweet things are what people drive for: filled doughnuts, Portuguese tarts, hot breakfast buns with good bacon and bread. Staff stay friendly even when it's heaving. Two honest snags — it gets very busy on sunny weekends and service slows right down then, and a few families have found the savoury toasties and rolls patchy for what you pay.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
