Turkish · Brighton
Tucked just outside the city centre, this is a small Turkish place where the food does the heavy lifting — melt-in-the-mouth lamb shank without the bone, fried lamb's liver with peppers and onions, sharing plates that arrive one after another, and complimentary bits and desserts the team hands out for free more often than not. Staff are warm and genuinely helpful with what to order, and they'll happily adjust dishes for allergies or gluten-free. High chairs, a kids' menu, vegan choices and free parking all help, and there's outdoor seating if you'd rather not be inside. Two honest snags: it's tiny, so it gets noisy when full — one visitor needed earplugs — and booking is close to essential, especially at weekends. Prices are fair for what lands on the table.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
