Fish & chips · Brighton
Warm, comfortable and easy to settle into with a pram, this Brighton chippy turns food around fast — several families mention plates arriving fresh and without a wait, which matters when a toddler has hit the wall. The cod comes out crisp-battered and flaky, chips chunky and fluffy inside with the little crispy bits scattered in, and the mushy peas are made in-house. Large portions are genuinely enormous, and there's a chips refill (one refill only, so don't promise a second). A big Greek salad works well alongside if someone wants something lighter, and the curry sauce gets a lot of love. High chairs, a kids' menu and buggy access are all sorted. Two large cod, a haddock, salad and drinks came in at what one family called great value. It's popular, so expect a buzz at busy times.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
