It's cheap, cheerful and local, with a kids' menu, high chairs and buggy access. The quesadillas and bacon toasties get the loudest praise, coffee arrives fast, and the vegan carrot and pistachio cake is worth the detour. Be warned: it's very laid back, standards wobble — some families have found the upper floors untidy and the toilets grim — and it's cold inside in winter. Go on a bright morning, sit outside or upstairs, and it charms.
