Handy if you're at the RVI or heading to the park — it's a short walk from either, and a good deal kinder on the wallet than the coffee chains inside the hospital. Two breakfast sandwiches and two coffees came to around £16, and the bacon and sausage-and-egg rolls get proper praise, as does the blueberry and almond cake. The coffee is genuinely good espresso, and there are gluten-free cakes, vegan options and cold sandwiches and toasties too. There's a kids' menu, high chairs and a few outdoor tables. Be warned it's small and can feel squashy with a pram, the music is sometimes turned up loud, and service is a bit hit-and-miss — most families find the staff kind and attentive, one regular clocking up "twice a week" visits, but a few have found the welcome cooler.
