Café · Devizes
Come for the market on a Thursday and this is a sensible stop when everyone's getting hungry — food tends to land within about ten minutes, which matters when a child has hit the wall. There's a downstairs area set up for children with toys and cosy seating, plus plenty of tables on the ground floor, so you're not squeezing a pram between chairs. You can come in from the rear car park, and there's outdoor seating front and back for warm days. Breakfasts and the bacon baps get steady praise, as do the paninis with a side salad and the club sandwich with homemade coleslaw. Window seats look onto the main street, which buys you a few minutes of distraction. Fair warning: it fills up upstairs and gets busy and noisy — regulars call it "very busy and very cosy". Staff are consistently warm.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
