Black Mocha
Cosy Brighton coffee shop with brunch, cakes, vegan options and outdoor seating — easy for families with little ones in tow.

Pub · Brighton
Right in the centre of town, this is a proper little pub — split in two by the bar, cosy with an open fire in winter, and with a secret garden out the back that comes as a genuine surprise. There's a sun trap of benches out front too, so on a warm day you can spread out rather than squeeze a pram between tables. Inside gets busy, and it's the sort of place where conversation runs loud over the music, so it suits confident children more than nap-time. Staff are warm and quick even when it's heaving, and there's a kids' menu and high chairs. Prices are fair for Brighton, the real ales are well kept, and one family celebrated a child's birthday here with chocolate shots for the grown-ups. Dogs welcome at the bar. Worth calling ahead — it's often chocker.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
