Tucked behind the restaurant of the same name, this is a proper Italian coffee stop rather than a chain café — cosy inside, with outdoor tables where blankets appear once the weather turns. The coffee is the draw: Caffè Vergnano, served warm rather than scalding, with flat whites and espressos people come back for. Pastries and cakes are made in-house — apricot croissants, lemon meringue, tiramisu — and the gelato does most of the persuading with children; caramel and pistachio are favourites. Portions are generous for the price, and lunch runs to panini alongside the sweet stuff. There's a kids' menu, high chairs and buggy access, and the team are genuinely warm with children. It's small and cosy, so a busy afternoon can feel tight with a pram — the outdoor seating is the easier bet.
