About Boston Tea Party

Bishopston's big brunch spot is one of the easier Bristol mornings with small children — dozens of tables, room to park a pram without apologising to anyone, and enough space that a toddler wandering off doesn't become a crisis. The atmosphere is laid-back rather than hushed, staff are friendly and quick, and you can phone your order ahead, which is a genuine help when the baby has already had enough. The kids' menu earns its keep: build-your-own breakfast wins over picky eaters. Adults do well with the Full Monty (a toastie hiding under the cooked breakfast), salmon hash, pancakes with yoghurt and compôte, and properly good flat whites. Honest caveats: the tea selection is oddly thin for the name, and the food is solid rather than remarkable next to nearby rivals. One parent calls it an excellent choice for maternity-leave coffee.
