Be warned: it's stairs to get up, so the pram may need to stay below, which is the main snag. Once you're up, the rooms are pleasant and the team is genuinely warm with families, breakfasts are made fresh, and the afternoon tea is the thing to come for: a two-tiered stand each, sandwiches, corned beef pie, quiche, then scones with jam and cream, fruit tarts and ginger cake. Portions are big enough that people take some home. There's a kids' menu, high chairs and free parking nearby. Staff will adjust things for allergies if you ask, though gluten-free cake isn't a given. It can carry sound between rooms when it's busy.
