Don't let the outside fool you — it's tired-looking and a bit shabby round the edges, with the garden and outdoor furniture needing attention, but step in and there's a warm, laid-back room with a proper view across Widemouth Bay. It's a seafood place first and foremost: mussels, megrim sole, monkfish and prawn curry, prawn pad thai, all locally sourced and generously portioned, with a kids' menu and vegan options if the fish isn't for everyone. Prices sit at the higher end for the area, though plenty think it's fair for the quality. High chairs, buggy access, free parking and outdoor tables help, and the staff are friendly and happy to take walk-ins, which matters when your day hasn't gone to plan. Dogs are welcome too. Service can slow when only one person's covering the bar.
