Tapas · Nottingham
Tapas is a lucky format with children — small plates land in waves, so there's something on the table fast when someone's patience runs out. The room in Hockley is warm and open once you're in, with space to move a pram between tables, high chairs, a baby changing station, and a few outdoor tables when the weather plays along. Staff get a lot of praise for being attentive and quick to help. Order the crispy kale (oddly, the thing people remember most), the padrón peppers, gambas, Catalan bread and the grilled broccoli with avocado sauce. The lunch menu is good value; vegan and veggie options are there, though it's worth double-checking your order arrives as asked. Two snags: there's a 20cm step at the door, and weekend evenings get busy and loud enough that you may wait for a table.
