About Ban Di Bul Korean Restaurant

Korean barbecue where you grill at the table, which children tend to find genuinely entertaining — the staff lay parchment on the grill, swap it out when it chars, and are quick and warm about it. Be warned it's tightly packed and small, so a buggy is manageable but you'll be close to your neighbours, and the mix of grill noise and chatter makes it a place where a noisy toddler blends right in rather than a quiet lunch. Walk-ins only at times, so go early or expect a wait. Portions are generous — the pork belly especially — and the kimchi pancake, seafood pancake, fried calamari and beef rib get the most love, with house-made kimchi and pickled radish alongside. There's a kids' menu, high chairs, a halal menu and free parking. Not everyone rates it, and you will come out smelling of smoke.
