Set inside an old office block on the edge of the city centre, this Wetherspoons is laid out as a warren of small separate rooms rather than one big hall — which cuts both ways with children. Find a quiet corner and it's genuinely calm; end up next to a rowdy table on a Friday and it gets loud fast. There's a lot of seating across several areas, high chairs, a kids' menu and outdoor tables, and food arrives quickly and hot, which matters when someone's hit their limit. The steak and ale pudding and bangers and mash get particular praise for generous, comforting portions, and breakfast is cheap and reliable. Prices are very low for central Manchester. Worth knowing: there's a big step at the front door, so check access with a pram, and tables can be sticky.
