Tucked behind what looks like an ordinary Irish pub frontage, this turns out to be more of a chic little bistro inside — a nice surprise when you've got children in tow and were bracing for a dark bar. There's a proper kids' menu, high chairs, buggy access and free parking, plus outdoor tables for when someone needs air. The team here get a lot of praise for being warm and attentive without hovering, checking in just enough. Steaks are the big draw (the peppercorn sauce gets particular love), alongside herb-crusted salmon, hake, Bombay cod and a salad one visitor described as "every fork a new taste". Leave room for sticky toffee pudding. Two honest notes: book ahead, it fills up, and steaks occasionally arrive a notch past how they were ordered.
