Sitting right on the harbourside in Whitehaven, this is a big, roomy restaurant with extra seating upstairs — plenty of space to park a buggy without blocking anyone, and easy enough to squeeze a large group in without booking ahead. The atmosphere stays relaxed and chatty rather than hushed, so a noisy toddler won't stand out, and the staff genuinely seem to enjoy their work — cheerful, patient, and quick to bring food out, which matters when someone's hungry and losing it. Portions are enormous; one family reckoned they were "too big", so sharing between children is sensible. The fried chicken, mango chicken, onion bombs and fish and chips all get real praise, and there's a kids' menu, high chairs and vegan options. Dogs are welcome. Prices sit slightly above what you'd expect, and one roast dish disappointed — stick to what the kitchen does well.
