Woodroast Coffee Shop

Restaurant · Dartmouth
Tucked into Dartmouth, this is a small, cosy room that does two things properly — brunch by day and smash burgers by night. Families come back for the breakfast in particular, with perfectly cooked eggs, crispy hash and seriously good coffee (vegan milks available), and it tends to arrive fast, which matters when someone's patience is running out. Evenings mean burgers, chicken salt fries and a sharing plate of fries that's genuinely enormous, so two children can share one. There's a kids' menu, high chairs and free parking nearby. The owners chat to everyone and the atmosphere is relaxed rather than hushed. Two honest caveats: it's little, so a pram is a squeeze at busy times, and it's worth booking — one family got the last available table.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
