Small, cosy and genuinely intimate — which is worth knowing before you arrive with a double pram, because space is tight. It's Italian at heart and the pasta is what people come back for: pappardelle with shin beef ragu that one visitor said took them straight back to Rome, sausage and fennel rigatoni cooked properly firm, and a tofu carbonara good enough to win over vegetarians. The tiramisu has a small devoted following. Prices feel fair for the quality, there's a kids' menu and high chairs, and outdoor seating if you'd rather not be shoulder to shoulder indoors. Staff are warm and usually quick, though on a busy shift a table can get forgotten for a bit — worth catching someone's eye early if children are flagging. One quirk: the front door stays shut even when they're open, so just walk in.
