Paths are wide and flat enough for a pram, though the hall's tour route involves plenty of stairs, so stick to the ground floor and grounds with little ones. The café does jacket potatoes and good coffee at fair prices, with a kids' menu and high chairs — it's genuinely not overpriced for a big attraction, though you may queue at busy weekends. Inside the hall there's a T-rex and taxidermy that reliably stops children in their tracks, plus the steam museum in the courtyard. Parking is £5 for the whole day, card or cash. One family reckoned you could spend the whole day and still not see everything.
