A little independent coffee shack on the corner of the Level, with the outdoor seating doing most of the heavy lifting — set back far enough from the road that you can let a toddler wriggle without watching traffic, and easy to park a pram beside. High chairs and a kids' menu are there, though the food side is limited: pastries, homemade cake, a gluten-free flapjack, and orange juice that's properly squeezed rather than poured from a carton. The coffee is the draw, roasted in-house on an old Probat, and the staff are consistently warm — they'll fill a water bottle for nothing and have been known to hand a soaked, shivering customer a hot drink on the house. Worth knowing it's outside seating only, so a rainy day means a takeaway cup. One regular calls it "the perfect place for a catch up".
