The City Farm Cafe
A cosy, light-filled café inside a free city farm, with excellent bakes, strong vegan and gluten-free choices, and animals to visit afterwards.

Café · Bristol
A working city farm a short walk from the centre, free to get into, with a café attached that makes the whole thing an easy few hours out. Children roam between cows, goats, pigs, chickens and ducks, dig about in the play area, and wander the vegetable beds and flower gardens without anyone hurrying them. The café itself is roomy, with outdoor tables, a proper kids' menu, high chairs and lots of vegan options — the coffee gets rave notices and the food is genuinely good rather than an afterthought. Buggies get about fine, parking is free, and there's a farm shop for plants, chutneys and meat on the way out. Staff can be brisk on a busy day, and there's no water play, so bring something else for a hot afternoon. One parent calls it "a great chilled out place".

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
