Bistro · Bristol
A tasting-menu place in Bristol that welcomes children better than you'd expect for the price — there's a kids' menu, high chairs and buggy access, and vegan options if you ask. The team talk you through every course with real patience and no snobbery, and there's an open kitchen the children can watch, which buys you a good twenty minutes of peace. Much of the produce comes from the restaurant's own market garden, and the fallow deer, cod and the fish head soup come up again and again as highlights. Tables sit close together, so it's cosy rather than roomy and a pram will need parking somewhere sensible — worth ringing ahead. It's a proper occasion meal at proper prices, and one visitor did find the pace slow, but most leave calling it unforgettable.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
