Meadow Covert
A budget-friendly Nottingham pub with outdoor seating and a 4.4 rating — an easy spot for a relaxed family drink.

Pub · Nottingham
A plain estate pub from the outside, but roomier inside than you'd expect — space for a pram, separated tables for eating away from the screens showing live sport, and a garden for when the children need to move. Families here are met warmly; the team joins in with noisy tables rather than tutting, tolerates fussy eaters, and there are high chairs, a kids' menu and gluten-free options. Food comes out fast and properly hot, which matters when someone's melting down. The Sunday roast with bottomless Yorkshires and roast potatoes is the one people go back for; the lasagne and hunter's chicken get raved about too, though the macaroni cheese can be stodgy. Weekly quizzes, themed nights and kids' entertainment. Parking is free but you must register your car at the iPad inside — do it, or you'll get a fine.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
