Inside is spacious and calm, with a log burner going in colder months and a tepee corner stocked with books and toys, plus a separate room for entertaining little ones. Outside there's a tractor to climb on, seating in the sun, and free parking. The baking is homemade and hard to choose between: cheese scones, shortbread, sausage rolls, quiches and daily pies all get singled out, and the coffee is genuinely good. Buggy access, high chairs and a kids' menu are all sorted. The outdoor tables catch full sun on hot days, so shade-seekers should head indoors.
