Café · Barry
A busy breakfast spot with room to spread out — big enough that a pram and a couple of children don't cause a jam, and there's free parking plus outdoor tables and views out to the channel. Food comes fast even when it's packed to the rafters, usually within ten minutes, which matters when someone's patience is running out. Portions are enormous for the price: thick butcher's sausages and proper bacon in a soft bap, an all-day breakfast served until 2.30pm, and a genuinely good vegetarian and vegan spread. High chairs, a kids' menu and buggy access are all sorted, and the staff are patient and quick to wipe down tables. Music plays at a level you can still talk over. It does get loud and crowded at weekends, and the odd breakfast lands lukewarm.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
