Breakfast is the thing to come for here — a charcoal grill gives the full English a smoky twist, the pancakes come out fluffy, and the omelettes are enormous. It's a Turkish-leaning menu the rest of the day, and the slow-cooked paprika lamb, tender under its lid of homemade bread, is what people come back for; a mixed meat mezze is a sensible order with picky kids, since everyone picks what they fancy. There's a kids' menu, high chairs, outdoor seating and free parking, and the room is clean, roomy and easy to get a buggy into. Service is quick and the owners are genuinely warm. Two honest notes: it's not cheap unless you catch the early bird deal, and the sandwiches and paninis are the weak spot — stick to the grill and the stews.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
