Café · Newquay
Set inside a working church in Newquay, this is the kind of place that makes parents wish they lived nearby — high ceilings, masses of plants, comfy chairs and enough room to park a pram without apologising. There's a play area, a ping pong table, and an indoor skate park you can watch from your table, which buys you a surprising amount of time with a hot coffee. The menu is small but done properly: the cheese and ham toastie, the resurrection breakfast, and jacket potatoes so big they're genuinely good value. Cakes and coffee are a cut above, the staff are warm, and community groups come and go all day. It's a little pricier than a standard café, and one jacket arrived undercooked — but families keep going back, some three times in a weekend.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
