Côte Cardiff Central
City-centre French brasserie with kids' menu, high chairs and outdoor tables — lovely sea bream and lemon tart, but pricey and slow when busy.

Tea room · Cardiff
Tucked into one of Cardiff's traditional arcades, this is a tea and coffee shop that happens to do properly good brunch — and the seating is roomy and comfortable enough that a pram isn't a problem, with high chairs and a kids' menu if you're feeding little ones alongside. The avocado toast is what people come back for (generously loaded), and the banana bread gets rave after rave; there's a strong run of vegan and gluten-free options too. Free teapot refills, and the little steeping timers are a small delight that children tend to find fascinating. Two honest snags: it's order-at-the-counter rather than table service, and the toilets are upstairs with no lift — worth knowing with a baby in tow. Otherwise it's calm and homely, the sort of place one parent describes as a "relaxed ambiance" you can linger in.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
